Sheung Wan Tour(2)-the reflection part

As we are all new in leading a tour, we face quite a lot of challenges.After the tour, we did some reflection and evaluation.We hope that if were granted a chance to lead a tour again, we will do much better.

Difficulties
1.When doing this project, we have to explore the culinary heritage of Hong Kong and compare the urban development and heritage conservation in rural areas.Based on this purpose, we have to do a lot research,not only Sheung Wan,but also other rural areas in order to compare them.

2.All of our group members are really young.Seldom do we have any chances to buy dried seafood ,not to mention knowing the method to choose them. So, we have to do a lot of research and ask the owners.

3.When planning the tour, we have contacted the owners of the shops to see if they allow us to visit their shops and provide us a short lecture.However, most of them turned down the request.

4.It is the first time that we led a tour, so we might feel a little bit nervous.While introducing the shops, we have to care about the feeling of tourists.

Lessons learnt
1.First of all, not all of us participated the tour led by Professor Sidney Cheung.So, not everyone of the member got to know the places in Sheung Wan. We have to refer to a lot of websites, TV programs. This really surprises us that there are a lot of resources in the internet.

2.In this project, we have experienced to be a tourist guide. Being a tourist guide is no way a easy job.We are just like doing a talk show, adding some funny stories while introducing the spots.This helps arouse the interest of the tourists.

3.In this project, we have to create a blog to upload our photos and video.This is actually a trend of promoting tourism.We have developed a sense to fully utilize the new technology.
