Sheung Wan Tour(1)









The first station is Wing Lok Street (commonly known as the Ginseng and Bird's nest street)You can see that there are a lot of leon light signs which are part of Hong Kong street culture! 








When you walk down Wing Lok Street and Bonham Strand, two small alleys in Sheung Wan, you will see an array of stores selling dried seafood, high end tonics and traditional medicine recipes.This place have another alternative name-South North Store.













The original decorations,aging owners and friendly staff can tell their long stories and illustrious history.They are really nice who allow us to bring the tourist to visit the shop!

Do you know what is the use the above brown container.It actually helps select out different sizes of ginger and divided into several categories.They will be sold at different prices.






Kathy is now leading the tourist!!!

Look! We are having a lot of fun! 
The gold stuff which emits golden light actually represents an abalone!

WOW!We want to eat all the bird's nest!We must become even more beautiful!



                                                                                       


 haha! I am asking the shopkeeper the use of the medicine.Guess what?It function is to cure respiratory problems.But we have to be aware that the eyes of the tokay gecko.It is toxic! Yet, the appearance of it is soooooooo scary.I had better try other medicine!XD



The next station is Des Voeux Road West.Here you will see some one dried seafood shop after another.
Half a century ago,this place is known as 'Salty Fish Hood' since most of the shops sold salty fish.In those days,the buildings had a shop on the ground floor,accommodation for staff on the first floor and a drying area on the roof. 

This place provides a feast for your eyes and nose as you pass by.Be aware that you may not be really familiar with this smell!This is absolutely unforgettable.


The oysters are ready to be served only after 2days until they are completely dried by sunlight.




 'OMG!Is it a real deer?'asked by the tourist.We tried to ask the shopkeeper.Yet , he refused to answer us.Well, we guess this is probably a deer specimen.It is so cute.However, it is of a high medical value.This explains this why it is killed.Poor!
